New vocabulary and the meaning of it:

Coma: One person in come is unconscience, he or she can't do anything

Ethics: Some rules, something that is correct in your profissional or personal life.

Trauma: One shock very strong, something very hard that happend becomes a trauma.

Revive: When someone is revived he/she return to life. They are almost died and sundelly they revive.

Prognosis: The relation of the doctor about the future of the pacient

Respirator: The machine that can help people breathing when they can't by theirselfs.

Miracle: Something that is unbelievable to happen and happened.

Unhook: When you turn of something, like a equipment or some machine.

Vegetative: When someone is like a vegetable, he/she can not do anything. The person is there but he/she does not have any reaction, no talk, no move, nothing. It is a vegetative state.

Serene: Peacefull face expression, calm.

Euthanasia: The injection that kill people.

Petitioned: Decison of the court about something that needs to be decided.

Friday

Well I want to tell you about what happened this friday 08/10. One of mine friends is leaving to brazil this sunday 08/12, so we decided to make a surprise farewell party to her. I was helping to organize, so it gave to me a lot of work. First we had to call the people to be there before my friend arrive, because it was a surprise. I called all the people and most of them were there on time. When my friend arrived it was a big surprise because she didn't know anything about what was going on. We have a lot of fun this day, a lot of music, drinks and food. Everybody who were there enjoyed dancing and playing. Now I'm sad because she is leaving, but happy because the party was very good. I hope to see her soon.

What can happen to people if they move to a big city???

In almost all the countries some people are acostumed to live in small cities with a very calm and peacefull life, and sometimes they have to move for another city for any reason. So the question is: What can happen to them if they move from a small to a big city??? Probabily with most of them nothing is going to happen, they'll continues the same as before move. But there is a big possibility that many people change their habits, behaviours, view points and their costumes. For example I would like to mention some behaviours that might change with this displacement of cities:

- People might became more agressive, it means; no pacient in the traffic and with the other people.
- Some people may be more isolated, spending more time alone.
- People genarally becoming more stressed, scared and exited.

I 'd like to remenber that I'm not saying that everyone whom moved to a big city become like this. In some people you can't see any displacement, they continues the same, nothing changed. There is a movie that you can watch that shows all of this I'm talking about. The name of the movie is Falling Down. It is kind of old but very interesting to show what could be the pertubation of living in a big city. I remenber watching this movie the first time I was very scared, but after a while I understood that it could really happen with a sensible person in a caotic city. My advice to you is to watch this movie and think about learning about this topic a little more.

The Euthanasia.

I know that the Euthanasia is praticed in many countries with animals that need to be sacrificed or offering dangerous for the people, but and with humans???
This is a really polemic topic. I don't have a solid opinion about it, but I have some thoughts that I would like to explain.
First of all is true that when the person is in a comatose breathing through respirator equipments, he/she can not decide about his/her life. The family is the only one that can do it.
If the doctor prognosis be that the person is going to stay in a vegetative state forever, and just a miracle could revived him/her, its of the family the right to decide about the person's life. About this decision I don't have a solid opinion, each case is one different case, but I think the family know which one is better, live or let to die. They know the person enough to take this decision, and they know what the person would like to do if he/she was still conscient.
Talking about this topic is very difficulty and polemic, many people have very strong opinion about that, and it can cause long discussions. I still remenber listening many discussions about that in hi school and in the university too, many people trying to explain their ideias and their view points.
Do you think the familiy should unhook the respirator??? Or in some cases or apply the euthanasia???
I would like to know what do you think about it, leave your comentary.

Last Sunday

This last weekend I didn't do too many things. On sunday me and three friends of mine went to a city near Newark, which name is Havre de Grace in the state of maryland. I heard that it was a small but nice city. There were a big river, a good marina, and some good restaurants. We went there to have lunch, see the boats and walk around the river. The weather was a little be cloudy but still very hot.
I remember looking for the name of the restaurants in a map before go there, because two of us wanted to eat sea food. We discuss eating in another place but the final decission was to eat sea food. So after a while walking around the river we found a nice restaurant with a very nice deck. We went there and ordered differets types of sea food. At the end, the bill was a little expensive but the food was really delicious and I didn't regret myself.

Why should the U.S.A put more public transportation on the streets....

The United States is a very developmently country with a very good structure. But there is one thing is still very bad in some medium and in most of the small cities aroud the country, it is the public transportation. Is true that most of the american population have car, but there are o lot of peolpe that don't have it or can't drive for many reasons. So how these people do to move from place to place??
In newar for example there are just a few busses and the time between the schedule is to long, so many timer people live to do their stuffs because there are no busses available in that moment. Most of the people that live in Newark are students and most of them don't have car and need bus to move from place to place. The public transportation is very necessary anywhere.
Coutries like japan and germany have a lot of public tranportation, so why the U.S. don't??
I can garantee one thing, money os not the problem for it!!

Yestarday.

Yestarday while I was taking classes, I was very tired. So when the classes finished I would like to go home but I could't because I had tutoring at two o clock. I went to the tutoring and stayed there until three p.m. After that I went home in order to take a rest, and it was very good because I was really tired. When I woke up I stayed at home for a while and went to play soccer. I palyed it around one hour and came back home to finish my homework and after that to sleep.

Cigarrettes must be removed from magazines

Is true that most of the marketing anounciments have a big influence in the people thoughts. Many people just buy the some stuffs because sow it in the anounciment and think it is nice. With cigarrettes is could be the same. Many people see it in the magazines and think that is nice to smoke. Children are the most easily to influence.
Anouciments sometimes can change people mind and the main reason to remove it forever is because of the young people and the children. Sometimes they are very easy to convince and it can conduce them to start to smoke.

First Riot

Why the riot started???What was the reason??
John Hick was completily wrong. First of all, he couldn't have done what he did. He stole a body in a grave in order to pratice dissection. The consequency of it was terrible!!
He made a stupid joke with some kids showing a piece of the body, and one of the kids told to his father. After a while the father of that kid had discovered that the body Hick had stollen was from his wife!! Unconscientily John Hick started a riot that increase in all over the country. It shows that some kinds of jokes could have a bad ending everybody need to be respect even the died people.

Masi tribe should change their culture.

Today in class we read an article about the Masi tribe in Africa. We could see that they have a very different culture and some strict rules. They fight a lot to keep their culture too.
So, the question is :
- "Should the Masi tribe change their culture??"
I respect their culture, but in my opinion some rules are very strong and no aceptables. For example the circumcize in women is a very hard rule. I don't think this is acceptable in any culture because you take out any kind of sexual pleasure that the woman could fell and the process to make it hurts and bleeds a lot.
They make circumcize in men to. I don't care about it, but the real problem is if the man show any kind of pain during the circumcize cirurgery, it means that they are coward and they does not deserv to live, so they must die. This happen when the guys are with thirteen or fourteen years old. It's really sad.
Do you think this is right?? I don't think so.......
The Masi's are also poligamic, but for me it's not a problem, because it doesn't kill or hurt anyone physically, and many coutries around the world are like that. I just think that they should give more value to women because they are responsable to build the houses and many other responsabilities, but this is still their culture and this is just my opinion.

This weekend

This weekend I don't have nothing special to do, but I hope have some fun with friends. I didn't go to New York with Eli because I've benn there tree times. Last weekend I was there.
I meet three new brazilians here and they are studing at ELi to, so maybe we'll combine to do something together. I would like to have fun at night, but let's see what is going to happen.
